  2. Who is sleeping in the tent?

    Think about how many people, how much gear stays inside, and whether you want space to sit up or stand.

  3. What weather are you expecting?

    Sun, wind, rain or cold nights all change what shelter, layers and sleep system make sense for the season.

  4. How fast do you need to set up?

    Arriving late or at sunset? Simple pitching and a well-organized pack save time when the light is fading.
